Laverne Griffin Youth Recreation Camp

Walter, Sherry, and Andy Chastain have served the campers and churches of Alaska through the ministry of Laverne Griffin Youth Recreation Camp (LGYRC) for the past 14 years. 2020 will mark their closing season as they take on the role of advisors to our new directors, Tyler and Carrie Canup, and their family.

There is no way to describe the contribution to gospel ministry in Alaska made by the Chastains, and which will continue for generations to come. The difference they have made in the camp and their impact on its potential for the future are unmatched in the camp’s history.

PLEASE join us as we honor them with a time of reflection and recognition, an introduction to the new staff, and a tour of the camp (weather permitting.)

You may be aware that Walter and Sherry have already begun the hard work of prepping some land for their future home.
