First Baptist Church is a healthy congregation involving eighty plus people within the heart of the Ketchikan, Alaska, city of approximately 14,000 people. The church is pastor-lead with the guidance of a church council and support of a deacon body. The Sunday morning worship is primarily contemporary led by a praise team under the direction of a part-time worship pastor. The church has four home C.A.R.E Groups, an active student ministry, a Filipino fellowship, and a church camp in the Tongass rain forest. The annual budget is $163,000. The pastor’s compensation is in the $60,000 range plus possibly a house. First Baptist Church, Ketchikan, will consider a bi-vocational pastor. The church has responded with excellence under the leadership of a transitional leadership team following the arrest of their pastor in June of 2018.
