LaVerne Griffin Camp is nestled on 58 acres with a 125-acre lake stocked with rainbow trout and silver salmon. It is an incredible place to spend your summer. Each week, you will have the opportunity to serve campers of all ages and work with mission teams from all over the United States. This position will allow you to work hand in hand with kids, youth, and adults in a Christian setting through weeklong camps and mission projects. You will also serve behind-the-scenes assisting with daily cleaning tasks, working in kitchen and dish room, helping to serve meals, and maintaining grounds. You are asked to commit to at least 8 weeks of service (Usually Last week of May – End of July).
Those who serve at the camp become a part of our family. We live and serve together. We pray and study God’s Word together. We walk together, laugh together, cry together, and rejoice together throughout the summer. Each day begins with staff devotion and prayer time. You will be surrounded by wonderful Christian leaders who encourage you to use your gifts and talents to serve others in unique and out-of-the-box ways. You will be encouraged to stretch yourself, search yourself, and strive to grow personally.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist with all aspects of camp ministry such as daily cleaning, grounds maintenance, food preparation and service, assisting mission teams in completing projects, serving as a part of leadership team for kids and youth camps, lead staff/camp devotions, as well as any other duties necessary to serve campers. Serve as a cabin leader if needed, assist with worship and recreation times, use specific gifts and talents (playing an instrument, singing, art, computers, photography, videography)
Summer Missionary Staff provide their own airfare to and from Alaska!
