We are in search of a small, moderately skilled team to provide some upgrades and rehab to our waterfront.
1. The camp has an approximately 50′ beach waterfront on the 125 acre Kalmbach Lake. Previously, this beach has been replenished with sand periodically and was installed with an underlayment to prevent the sand from entering the body of the lake.
2. It has since been realized that the design is flawed and continued use and replenishment of sand will have a deleterious effect on the lake, over time.
3. We would like to install a wooden retaining wall (or other suitable material) across the front edge of the beach area to contain the sand away from direct contact with the water’s edge and refill, as needed, the beach sand behind the retaining wall.
4. We seek to extend the waterfront by an additional 50’
Materials for this project are estimated to cost $4000.00 for wood beams, crushed gravel, rebar, and miscellaneous materials, heavy equipment rental for tree and brush removal, and preparation of shoreline for sand installation.
